TechWorks is a non-profit, tech hub, and learning center committed to job creation, economic growth, innovation, and talent development for Gaston county and the region.

Whether you're hosting a networking event, party, training course, meeting, or talk we've got you covered. Proceeds from venue rentals help support our mission.

TechWorks offers a safe environment that easily allows for social distancing, provides PPE, has garage doors that can be open for fresh air circulation, and will accommodate any special needs that you have.

TechWorks is open for Certification testing!

Upon entering, tester must must sign a paper stating
I agree that it is my responsibility to self-isolate myself and reschedule my test if i have:

  • been diagnosed with COVID-19
  • been in close personal contact with someone who has a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis
  • have flu-like symtpoms, such as fever or chills and a cough, sore throat, or shortness of breath.

By appearing to test, I certify that I do not meet any of the above criteria

VRARA Charlotte NC Chapter Launch: Featuring Vince Jordan, Founder of Lobaki

We will discuss the power of virtual reality to transform training, education and collaboration with Vince Jordan, the founder of Lobaki. Through Lobaki, Vince has created dozens of jobs in rural Mississippi and deployed virtual reality solutions to solve real-world problems throughout the United States.
 
Since 2017, Lobaki has been focused on VR development projects with an emphasis on education and training. With over 30 schools in 8 states, Lobaki is bringing VR education to teachers at all grade levels to show how the technology can be used as a tool and an extension of the classroom. The company also has created a VR Developer curriculum that is teaching the next generation of VR developers across the country. Along with the educational endeavors, Lobaki has also partnered with businesses, governments, and artists to create customized VR and AR experiences using computer generation and hybrid-360 video production.

TechWorks Gaston is a proud recipient of the Duke Energy Foundation grant!

The Duke Energy Foundation has awarded grants totaling $648,000 to 16 organizations in North Carolina to support workforce education and training programs. The grants support a diverse workforce through programs that serve under-represented, low-income or diverse groups, including women and minorities. This grant helps fund the TechWorks Technology Academy, which addresses the significant tech talent gap as well as upward mobility and job creation for Gaston County.

TechWorks Gaston is a proud recipient of The Carrie E. and Lena V. Glenn Foundation Grant!

TechWorks is sincerely grateful for the second annual grant from The Glenn Foundation for the TechWorks Technology Academy. This grant will help fund qualified instructors and program development to deliver in-demand IT training and education for our current and future workforce.
